How does an induction system work?

The most significant features and advantages of induction heating are as a result of the heat and energy being placed directly onto the required element.

The heat is transferred by way of radiation (oven) or thermal contact (oil bath).

These methods waste lots of energy. The effectiveness of induction heating offers many advantages over other types of heating methods including: Ovens, Gas burners / flame, Oil baths, Resistance heating and Hot air heating

The advantages include:

  • All the energy is directed into the workpiece.
  • The high penetration levels ensure rapid and accurate heating throughout.
  • It is possible to heat only a specific part of a workpiece (localisation), leaving the rest of it cold. (e.g. the outer ends of a pressure roller, or crimping the inner ring of a shaft bearing)
  • Very highly controlled replication is guaranteed.
  • Thanks to the controlled heating capabilities, it is possible to include this method in production lines (automated processes)
  • The mid-frequency induction systems normally consist of two components. The frequency generator and the induction coil.

Why have we chosen the mid-frequencies for our systems?

For the simple reason that it is extremely safe – effective – quiet – clean – environmentally friendly and very fast.
Furthermore it is cost-saving thanks to the low connection consumption and the very high outputs and yields.

In other words: Quick and Smart Heating systems

The temperature required for dismantling or installing components for crimp connections or fittings is around 200 Celsius. We use special materials that can resist such high temperatures. This way we have balanced systems where we are able to guarantee by over 90% the effective working temperatures.
